RSV Vaccines now Publicly Funded for age 75 and up
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of lower respiratory illness, particularly among older adults.
This year, Ontario has expanded their RSV prevention program to include a publicly funded RSV vaccine. This vaccine is available for all individuals aged 75 and older.
Important: If an individual has previously received a dose of RSV vaccine, they do not need to receive another dose this season, as booster doses are not currently recommended.
To obtain this vaccine, we invite you to book an appointment in one of our injection clinics. Injection clinics are offered:
Every Monday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm , and
Every second Wednesday from 9 am to 4pm.
To book an appointment, please call 905-528-5292.
Flu shots and Covid shots for 2025
We at Core Care are encouraging our patients to receive flu shots this year. Flu shots are recommended for children older than 6 months of age.
Pharmacies are able to offer flu shots for anyone over 2 years old and are also stocking the high dose flu vaccine recommended for those 65 and over. We feel that pharmacies are a safe option and are asking our patients to receive a flu shot at their local pharmacy.
This year we will be doing flu shots for children under 2 years old. To book an appointment for this, you must call our office at 905-528-5292. Injection clinics are offered every Monday afternoon from 1 to 4 pm, and every second Wednsday from 9am to 4pm.
Note: For children under the age of 9 who are receiving the flu vaccine for the first time, please be advised that a booster dose will be required 4 weeks later.
Patients attending the flu shot clinic should wear a short-sleeved/ sleeveless shirt and have a snack prior.
