Doctors



Dr. Brenda Copps

Dr Copps was raised in Hamilton and after earning her BSc at the University of Waterloo, came back for medical school and to establish her family practise.

She has held leadership positions in the Hamilton Family Health Team and the CPSO but it is working with the Core Care team to provide good patient care, that she finds most fulfilling.



Dr. Narisa Duboff

Dr. Duboff completed her residency at Western University in Family Medicine. She completed her palliative care traineeship at McMaster University. She currently has a family practice that is part of the Hamilton Family Health Team (HFHT) in down town Hamilton. She works as a physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Newborn Care Rota and at the Walker Family Cancer Center as a palliative care physician in the oncology department.

Her palliative care clinical work is focused on in-patient, outpatient and in the community setting focusing on chronic disease management and malignancy. Her interests are in early integration of palliative care and mental health. She is currently an adjunct clinical professor in the department of Palliative Care at McMaster University and enjoys teaching and research.



Dr. Christine Glenny

Dr. Glenny has been a Family Physician since 2019. She is native to the Hamilton area and recently started a new practice. Dr. Glenny completed her medical schooling at University of Toronto, residency at McMaster and a Masters Degree in Health Studies and Geriatrics at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Glenny’s special interests include health systems and QI research; and she is a former lead physician of the Hamilton Family Health Team.

Dr. Glenny is motivated to build her skills in virtual care and has recently started using a portal for scheduling and communicating with her patients online. In her home life, Dr. Glenny balances her career with 3 young children and enjoys sports, camping, and cooking.

Other Information


Programs:

At the Core Care Family Health Team, family doctors work with other health care professionals such as Dietitians, Mental Health Counsellors, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses to see more patients and to keep them healthy.

These Allied Health Professionals are clinicians who work together in a collaborative environment using various tools and resources to get patients the care they need at the time they need it.

Dietitians

The Hamilton Family Health Team has a number of Registered Dietitians who will help patients manage their nutrition needs and other health problems.

Mental Health Counsellors

Mental Health Counsellors have nursing, social work or other professional backgrounds. They are able to see patients with a broad range of mental health-related difficulties. In collaboration with the family doctor, the patient and counsellor will assess the problem and develop a treatment plan.

Pharmacists

Clinical pharmacists with the HFHT work in the family doctors’ offices. They work directly with the family doctor and other members of the health care team.

Registered Nurses (RNs) / Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs)

Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses within the Hamilton Family Health Team work with our doctors, mental health counsellors, Registered Dietitians, and pharmacists to provide care that promotes health and prevents disease.

Groups and Workshops:

The Hamilton Family Health Team offers a number of health classes and programs to help individuals manage their own health.
